Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amirise Plus 12.5mg/5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. How Amirise Plus Tablet works Amirise Plus 12.5mg/5mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amitriptyline and Chlordiazepoxide, which treats depression. Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine (BZD) which works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. As Amirise Plus 12.5mg/5mg Tablet may make you feel drowsy or affect your concentration and this may affect your ability to drive. Kidney SAFE IF PRESCRIBED Amirise Plus 12.5mg/5mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease.
