Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amitone Plus Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. How Amitone Plus Tablet works Amitone Plus Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Amitriptyline and Chlordiazepoxide, which treats depression. Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine (BZD) which works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Driving UNSAFE Amitone Plus Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. As Amitone Plus Tablet may make you feel drowsy or affect your concentration and this may affect your ability to drive. Kidney SAFE IF PRESCRIBED Amitone Plus Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Amitone Plus Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
