How Amoxil Clav Injection works
Amoxil Clav Injection is a combination of two medicines: Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid. Amoxycillin is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Amoxycillin against bacteria.

Pregnancy
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Amoxil Clav Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Lactation
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Amoxil Clav Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Amoxil Clav Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Amoxil Clav Injection may cause side effects such as allergic reactions, dizziness or fits that may make you unfit to drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Amoxil Clav Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Amoxil Clav Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Amoxil Clav Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Amoxil Clav Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of liver function tests is recommended while you are taking this medicine
