How Ampitum Injection works
Ampitum 1000 mg/500 mg Injection is a combination of two medicines: Ampicillin and Sulbactam. Ampicillin is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Ampicillin against bacteria.

Alcohol

Pregnancy
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Ampitum 1000 mg/500 mg Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Lactation
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Ampitum 1000 mg/500 mg Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
It is not known whether Ampitum 1000 mg/500 mg Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney
CAUTION
Ampitum 1000 mg/500 mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ampitum 1000 mg/500 mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
