Bpzide 12.5 mg Tablet is a type of diuretic (water pill). This medicine reduces excess fluid levels in the body and is used to treat edema (fluid overload) associated with heart, liver, kidney, or lung disease. It is also used in treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and heart failure. It makes you lose excess water through urine. This medicine should be taken only during day time to avoid frequent urination at night. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines. Regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes is important while using this medicine. Dizziness and headache may occur as side effects initially, but these improve with time.

How to use Bpzide Tablet

Alcohol
UNSAFE
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Bpzide 12.5 mg Tablet Taking Hydrochlorothiazide with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy

Bpzide 12.5 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Bpzide 12.5 mg Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Bpzide 12.5 mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
CAUTION
Bpzide 12.5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Bpzide 12.5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Bpzide 12.5 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Bpzide 12.5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Bpzide 12.5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
What if you miss a dose of Bpzide Tablet?
If you miss a dose of Bpzide 12.5 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
