Choltran 5 mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat high cholesterol. This medicine helps by lowering "bad" cholesterol (LDL). Lowering cholesterol levels reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke. It may also be used to treat itching seen in certain types of liver disease and to relieve some types of diarrhoea. This medicine may be used alone or in combination with other medicines. Lifestyle changes like low-fat diet, regular exercise, and smoking cessation may help this medicine to work better. Constipation, stomach pain, bloating, and gas may be seen as side effects with this medicine. It is advisable to drink plenty of water and eat a high fibre diet to reduce constipation.

How to use Choltran Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Choltran 5 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Choltran Tablet works
Choltran 5 mg Tablet is a bile acid binding agent. It removes bile acids from the body. The liver then produce more bile acids using cholesterol, as a result, the levels of cholesterol in the body is lowered.

What if you miss a dose of Choltran Tablet?
